Installed on the slopes of La Soufrière since the 17th century, the Bologne plantation experienced different types of cultivation until the middle of the 19th century when the monoculture of sugar cane was developed on all its plots.
This revolution fully revealed the exceptional richness of this volcanic terroir and everyone agreed that the Bologna plantation concentrates on a few dozen hectares the most beautiful rum terroirs there are, with a potential quite unique on the island.
In operation since 1887, Bologne is the oldest distillery in Guadeloupe.
