Marie-Ketty, founder of the brand "Le secret de Marie-Alice", is the only craftswoman in Guadeloupe to make Creole shortbread with the flavours of yesteryear. She invented me, a little pineapple shortbread, in her charming agro-processing laboratory located in the commune of Saint-François.
In my simple composition, you will find flour, butter, sugar and fresh pineapple selected from local farmers for their high quality. I follow a recipe for "doukoun" revisited, this famous traditional cake from the island of Marie-Galante. Indeed, Marie-Ketty added some creativity to it, so I was transformed into a crunchy gastronomic shortbread.
Note of information: I am very honoured to announce that I am not the only shortbread flavour here. You'll find other shortbreads in the shop a little further on. If you have trouble deciding, I suggest you try all of us to see which one is your favourite.
TASTING TIP:Try me with a citrus juice at snack time. I delight the taste buds of young and old alike!
