I am Bologna VSOP, a very old VSOP rum made from a blend of rums aged in oak casks for 4, 5, 6, 8 years or more. I develop surprising aromas of candied tropical fruit. My persistence is remarkable. The aftertaste is slightly spicy and praline. I am unquestionably ranked among the greatest. My company, Distillerie Bologne, is located in Basse-Terre in Guadeloupe. Founded in 1930, it is one of the largest producers of agricultural rum on the island of Guadeloupe.

Nose: Both refined and very complex, it is marked by candied fruit and cinnamon.

Palate: The palate is intense and well-balanced, with very supple flavours. The aromatic palette is very faithful to the Bologna style: sugar cane and candied fruit in depth, with a hint of iodine. Gourmet bourbon vanilla and spices (star anise, white pepper) are supported by silky tannins that carry the structure. 

The mid-palate gradually develops notes of ripe banana, cocoa and vanilla, followed by spicier notes of gingerbread, candied ginger and cinnamon.
