RHUM NEISSON

Neisson is probably the best white agricultural rum in the West Indies. At least, that's the reputation of this Martinique distillery among connoisseurs. The Neisson distillery was founded in 1932 by brothers Jean and Adrien Neisson, with the purchase of the Thieubert dwelling. Using the very best production techniques, the Neisson brothers quickly gained recognition for their talent. In 1952, they created the "Zépol Karé" (square-shouldered) bottles. Rectangular in shape, these bottles made a major contribution to the high reputation of Neisson rum. Following the death of the Neisson brothers, the distillery went into serious economic decline.

In 1995, Jean Neisson's daughter, a biologist and doctor, inherited the distillery. Respecting her father's wishes, she bequeathed the estate to her son, Grégory. An enthusiast of his grandfather's know-how, he took over the running of the distillery. Jean Neisson's grandson is particularly keen to respect the traditions of his family's ancestral know-how and the farming practices of Neisson rum. With all his perseverance, he is turning the distillery around economically and commercially, while preserving the traditional authenticity of Neisson rum.

Perhaps you'd like to see for yourself, unless you'd prefer to turn to the great vintages, such as 1991, 1992, 2004, 2005... exceptional vintages that only a privileged few will have the joy of tasting.

To this day, Neisson agricultural rums are among the most famous in the world.
