Founded in 1870, the GARDEL factory is the last remaining sugar factory on mainland Guadeloupe. Following the many restructurings of the sugar industry, it is now the guarantor of the know-how that has shaped the identity of the region and its people.

Located in the heart of the Grande-Terre sugar cane basin, GARDEL produces more than 50,000 tonnes of cane each year and processes almost 80% of Guadeloupe's sugar cane.
